"The Birds and The Bees" was something my folks never explained to me. Of course I know what it's supposed to mean, but how does a bird and a bee have anything to do with sex? Considering my personal experiences with the sex and relationships, I care to believe it's a story about a bird and a bee that tear each other apart.
From someone who has spent a few years studying biology, this makes more sense than using the two animals as a metaphor for sexual differences between guys and girls. Plus it's humorous.
